FRESAS is a deeply personal tribute to maternal devotion, cultural roots, and the small, deliberate acts of love that shape who we are.

Growing up, my mother, originally from Mexico, filled our home with stories of where she came from, anchoring our childhood in her heritage. Even during times when money was tight and resources were scarce, she made a point of buying fresh strawberries. They were my absolute favorite fruit, but more than an indulgence, they were an intentional offering: a reminder that we were worth nourishing, celebrating, and caring for, no matter our circumstances.

Spanning 30" × 59" (2'6" × 4'11"), FRESAS explores the quiet weight and vibrant sweetness of that memory. The scale gives presence to a simple, everyday fruit elevated into a symbol of resilience, heritage, and tenderness.
